The Grand Foyer has been stabilized!

A Grand Foyer is a large entrance hall, often located at the front of the house and leading to other rooms. It is typically a spacious and impressive room designed to make a statement upon entering the home. Ours needed work!

In traditional architecture, the Grand Foyer served as a reception area where guests could be received and welcomed. It was often used for formal events such as parties, balls, and receptions. The space was designed to create a sense of grandeur and elegance, with features such as high ceilings, grand staircases, ornate chandeliers, and intricate moldings and decorations.

What we started with.

Our grand foyer had lost most of its charm.

It just lacked luster and was drab. With the huge space, low cost tiles and surface-mount ceiling tile just left it felling, well unwelcoming. The grand foyer was also so showing its neglect with lots of stains and nail holes. We also found a lot of other large holes around the molding that you could fit your hand into. It was time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Even the radiator looked like something out of a horror movie.

This was not a easy task do to the size of the wall and I will not talk about how much paint it took. With the radiator I wrapped plastic around it and hit it with high time spray paint to at least get it back to silver. The over stair way was so high that we could not reach the top at all that we had to hire someone to come and paint it for us. I will not even talk about how many nail holes and tape we had to patch or remove in this room.

The result

It took us a few days but we got it done!

Looks a lot better. Some day we will put in a new celling, floor, a large chandelier, fancy molding. It still looks head and shoulders better than what it did. We even added a high speed WIFI that covers the entire house. At least it does not look like you are walking in to some big apartment building any more. We also have a lot of wall space for art work too. We are going to add a table and a guest book too.

Keep in mind this is Grand Foyer has been stabilized and not Grand Foyer has been restored yet. But we will get to it as soon as we get the time and funds. If you would like to help out our donation page is here.

We even went out and bought a new run. Well we got one. In truth it needs like three.
