Since my job ended, I’ve committed fully to my job search journey 2025. I updated my email server, revamped my resume, and refreshed my LinkedIn profile. I started sending my resume to recruiters and set up web crawlers to track down new opportunities.
The social side of job hunting is just as important. You can’t get hired if no one knows you’re looking. I’m going to post more often and explore new ways to spread the word. A good friend reminded me to include Facebook in my strategy, so here we are.
While I search for my next role, I’m also enjoying time I didn’t have before. I watch Alien Earth with my oldest son and Arcane with my youngest. I’m spending extra time with my dog, who sadly doesn’t have much time left.
Life at home keeps moving. My oldest is starting at Walmart. The twins are preparing for college. My youngest is getting ready for high school.
The car parts I ordered before my job ended are starting to arrive. I hear McCoy’s voice in my head: “I’m an electronic engineer, not a car mechanic!” Still, I figure I can handle it. And yes—these floors won’t steam clean themselves.
Soon, my days will fill with applications, recruiter calls, and interviews. I’m ready to find the place where my skills and experience make the biggest impact.
