Lambda Goes National DU Installed At CCT

This afternoon, Saturday March 18, 1961, Lambda Iota Fraternity will be officially installed into Delta Upsilon General Fraternity. The ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Potsdam. At this time active, alumni, and honorary brothers of Lambda Iota will be initiated into Delta Upsilon.

Immediately following the installation, a flag raising ceremony at the fraternity residence, 30 Elm Street. The ceremony will officially designate the house as the home of the Clarkson Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. A reception held in honor of the new chapter will climax the afternoon. The reception will take place in the Lewis House Lounge from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Delta Upsilon extends an invitation to all who would like to attend this affair.

The installation banquet will be held at the Arlington Hotel this evening at 6:15 p.m. Attending the banquet will be: President Van Note, representing the college; Mr. Charles Prutzman President of Delta Upsilon General Fraternity; brothers of Delta Upsilon who number in the Clarkson administration and faculty; visiting executives of Delta Upsilon Fraternity; visiting brothers of Delta Upsilon from Rochester, Bucknell, Hamilton Union, Western Michigan, Colgate, Cornell, Syracuse, Toronto, McGill, and other chapter houses; active and alumni initiates of the Clarkson Chapter of Delta Upsilon; and honored guests. A dance will follow the banquet.

Lambda Iota is a name which has resounded on the Clarkson Campus for the past forty-two years. It is a name which is imbedded in the minds of those past and present at Clarkson. From this day forward the name Lambda Iota will live only in the memory of these people. However, the brotherly spirit and proud tradition which is associated with Lambda Iota will continue to live and grow in the new Clarkson Chapter of Delta Upsilon.
