Late-Night Stream After Food Shopping
We’re on late tonight because we had to do some food shopping. It always amazes me how these trips have evolved over the years.
I used to take the kids with me, picking out groceries while teaching them about prices, budgeting, and making smart choices. Back then, they’d ask for snacks or toys, and I’d either say yes, no, or help them find a better option.
Now? The roles have completely flipped. They handle the meal planning, look for sales, and take charge of the shopping list. Meanwhile, I’m the one wandering the aisles looking for a snack or toy. How the tables have turned! 😂
Signs of the Season: Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day
One thing I love about food shopping is how it tells you what holiday is coming up. From this trip alone, I could tell that Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day are right around the corner.
I’ve never been big on sports, but hosting a Super Bowl party someday could be fun—especially with our huge theater room TV. That screen would be perfect for watching the big game with friends and family! Maybe next year, we’ll go all out with snacks, wings, and the full experience.
As for Valentine’s Day, we normally deck the house out in hearts and red decor. But after everything that’s happened over the past few months and with no guests expected, we’re keeping things simple this year—maybe just a few small decorations.
Driveway Woes and a Relaxing Weekend Ahead
The roads are mostly clear, but our driveway is still a mess. I called my plow guy and placed an order, though I told him no rush—after food shopping tonight, I have nowhere to go.
Even with the slightly warmer weather (though still not above freezing), I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home. Here’s the plan:
- Coding: I’m almost done with the Twitch game I’m making.
- House projects: Got a few small ones lined up.
- Movies: A cozy weekend calls for a good movie or two—probably using that huge theater room TV!
- Kicking back with a wine cooler or two. 🍹😂
