Sasha’s Vet Visit and a Long Day on the Road
Talk about a long day of driving—I spent nearly four hours behind the wheel today.
I left work at noon, came home, and picked up Stacie and Sasha before heading out to Sasha’s vet visit. Once we got there, they weighed her, checked her temperature, and examined her.
We had prepared for an overnight stay, since we didn’t have a pee sample to bring. If you’ve ever tried getting a chihuahua to pee in a cup, you know it’s nearly impossible. If she sees us watching, she just stops mid-stream. Trying to crate her doesn’t work either—she’ll have a meltdown and hurt herself trying to get out.
The reason we took her to the vet is that she doesn’t know when she has to go. She’ll accidentally pee while sleeping, which means we wake up to a puddle in the bed. Luckily, the vet gave her more antibiotics and a new medication to help with bladder control. I didn’t even know they made meds for that!
More Driving and Grocery Shopping
Once we got home, I had to head right back out for food shopping. Stacie came along, and we stocked up on essentials. Prices are still climbing, especially eggs, which have nearly doubled in price. We grabbed a few treats too—because why not?
Crazy Weather and Falling Icicles
All day, it’s been wet and rainy, causing some of the huge death icicles to start falling off the house. Not as many as I’d like, but at least some of them are gone.
The wet ice is making everything slick, especially the driveway. If this keeps up and then freezes on Friday when temps drop below zero, we’ll be dealing with a solid sheet of ice.
StreamerBot Patch and Tonight’s Stream
Last night, StreamerBot released a patch, and I took a few minutes after the stream to check it out. It looks like they fixed the issue with video playback, so I’ll be testing it live tonight. If everything works, we should have the TV back up and running for our viewers.
Speaking of unexpected tech surprises, YouTube really impressed me. We accidentally played copyrighted music, and I expected a warning or mute. Instead, YouTube automatically removed the music but left our voices and other sounds untouched. Wow!
To unwind near the end of the stream, I might play some Grounded. After a long day like today, I could use a little relaxation.
