Lambda

Hail the mgihty North Country winter! Temperatures of forty and fifty below (or is it "above"?), sleet and snow (or is it rain and slush?), and the Ice Carnival (or is it the Water Carnival?). No matter what the weather, Thursday, Friday and Saturday were like the carnivals of other years, maybe better. Tough luck the hockey game and the statues were puddled out.

Loud and hearty cheers to the Lambda pledges for the presentation of the best men's stunt of the 1949 Ice Carnival. Very well done, men.

Several of our illustrious alumni returned to the fold to enjoy the week-end with us. Among them: John Heyrich, Mike Kennedy, Walt Smith, John Maloney, Speed Dixon, Chuck Elve, Bill Green, Bob Smith and especially Booper McCain. The inhabitants of the front room, Colligan, Stocker, etc., will remember the Booper for many a day for a fraternal-act unparalleled in the memory of anyone at the big white house. Afraid the details are unprintable but at any rate, Friday night's party was a good one. (Mildly speaking, that is)

All hail the treasurer-elect, Jerry Wyle and the Hoot Editorelect, Bill Wightman!

Welcome, Bill McGinty, newest resident of 30 Elm.

Colds, sore throats and laryngitis it seems to be the fad nowadays. Not many of Clarkson's population have dodged even one of the three. (Except the more rugged and tough-skinned and their hands probably drag on the ground when they walk, anyway.)

Not many more things to waste your time with, Mother, (I know she reads this) so I'll close with this parting thought (or shot) to the pledges - HELL WEEK next week!
