The interest of the new men in their college will increase as they become acquainted with its organization, as well as with its personnel. We thus endeavor to present to our new fellow students a brief summary of our student organizations and activities.

The assembly consists of the whole student body and all those whose athletic fees are paid have voice and vote therein. The assembly officers for the present year are: President. Elric A. Cowie; Vice President, Richard C. Dawes, '25; Secretary, Philip Josslon, '21; Treasurer, Maxwell Hob- kirk, '25.

The Student Board of Governors is the official ruling body of student affairs. It is composed of a senior and junior representative of each fraternity and the non-fraternal group. The senior members have actual control and the junior members attend the meetings to familiarize themselves with "high politics" and make themselves capable of assuming the highest powers next year. All meetings of the Board are open to the student body. This form of government is new at Clarkson but if we all cooperate and abide by its rules and decisions it is bound to succeed. President Brooks is chairman of the Board; Bernard Hall, '25, is student chairman. The board has several standing committees, the names of which quite clearly explains their duties. They are the athletic, interclass, rules, and nominating committees. The members of the Board of Governors and the organization which they represent are:

B. Hall, '25, O. Pi O.
H. Washburn, '26, O. Pi O.
J. Mercer, '25 Sigma Delta.
F. Mott, '26, Sigma Delta.
E. Vrooman,' 25, Theta Pi Epsilon.
M. Skinner, '26, Theta Pi Epsilon.
F. Porter, '25, Lambda Iota.
H. Brunette, '26, Lambda Iota.
W. Harrison, '25, C. T.. S.
C. Morgan, '26, C. T. S.

The non-fraternity group has not yet elected.

The Interfraternity council is the other organization which helps to control our destinies. It has no actual authority but was organized last winter to promote a feeling of better fellowship among all students and inaugurate more cooperation between the fraternities. The council is composed of a senior and junior from each fraternity. The members are, Joe Powers, '25, and Kent, '26, of the O. Pi O., Erwin Vrooman, '25, and Harry Goodnaw, '26, of T. Pi E., Cuthbert '25, and And- erson, '26, of the Lambda Iota, Joe Mercer, '25, Perkins, '26, of the Sigma Delta, Barlow, '25, and Morgan, '26, of the C. T, S. Powers is President Anderson is Vice President, and Goodnaw, Secre- tary and Treasurer.

There are five local fraternities at Clarkson. Namely: Omicron Pi Omicron, 99 Market Street; Sigma Delta, Prospect Place; Lambda Iota, 30 Elm Street; Theta Pi Epsilon, 14 Lawrence Ave.; and Clarkson Technical Society, 20 Pleasant Street. There is also a chapter of the Square and Compass National Fraternity of which about twenty-five "Techers" are members.

Another place where Clarkson is always on the map is on the gridiron, court, diamond. Football, basketball, baseball are our major sports. Awake! All ye husky slimers and put your shoulder to the line! Do your bit to crush St. Lawrence! This year's squad is looking fine and bids fair to sweep all foes before it. Jack Reed is being assisted by Tom Sullivan of Massena, former Colgate coach, and our old standby, Walter Perrin, of Orange fame. With this trio of coaches, the Green and Gold will shine—IF EACH TECHER SUP- PORTS IT!

Frank Porter, '25, is manager of football this year and is assisted by "Tubby" Brunette. "Old Reliable" Billie Bucher, is captain.

Henry "Pop" Wilson. '25, is manager of basket- ball and "Wassy" MacGregor, '26, is assistant. Jimmie Calderella will lead the basketeers on the court this year.

Baseball is our other major sport. All look forward to a more successful season next year in hope that Clarkson may get their half of the breaks in the game and the weather. "Mike" Cowie is manager and our "Fighting" Infielder, Joe Powers is captain.

Hockey is our minor sport. Last year we had a successful season and hope to make it better this year. Roland Fitch is captain, and Prindle is manager.

For those who lack the lust for blood or the physical ability to hit the line, Clarkson offers another field of opportunity, pleasure and fame. (This is in addition to the Tech's unusual facilities for the development of parlor sportsmen.)

We have in our midst many "Budding' Caru-oes" who are being developed by the Glee Club's capable director, Mr. Frank Merrill Cram. You new men in the North Country may not realize as yet what an important orgaization our Glee Club really is, but in a few years you will hear less of such men as Caruso and John MacCormick. Then is when you'll hear the name of Hugaboom heralded far and wide and the melodious strains of his rich baritone will be emitted from phonograph, radio, and concert hall. Better try out for the dug, fel- lows—you'll feel pretty big some day when you can tell the guests that you sang in the College Glee Club with such an artist.

Prof., A. H. Powers is President, Maxwell Hobkirk is the manager and Hugaboom is his able assistant.

We have two most capable men as cheer leader for this year in the persons of Bert Cornelius, '25, and Jack Fuller, '27. With them to lead us, the teams will know we are behind them for sure.

The American Institute of Electrical Engineers has a branch at Clarkson. Meetings are held semi-monthly as a rule and many valuable lectures, discussions and pictures are given. Frank Porter '25, is president of the local branch.
