Delayed Amazon Order and Life Up North
Thanks to the weather, our Amazon order is delayed by a day—or at least, that’s what they’re saying for now. Hopefully, it’s just one day, but living up north, you never really know.
If you’re used to next-day Amazon shipping, that’s not how it works up here. The fastest we get anything is a week, maybe two. But honestly, it’s a fair trade. What we get in return—fresh air, wildlife, safety, and a strong sense of community—makes it worth the wait. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Streaming PC Issues: Time for an Upgrade?
Last night, OBS crashed mid-stream. We were back up in a few minutes, but it’s clear that my streaming PC is at its limit. It’s an older system that’s barely limping along at this point.
Right now, if I stream and play a game at the same time, the bit games in Unity don’t run well. That leaves me with two choices:
- Drop a ton of cash on a powerful new PC.
- Revive my old streaming computer and move everything over.
We’ve had a dual-PC setup before, but when we restarted the stream, I kept it simple and set everything up on my main PC. Now, I might need to switch back. If things look a little weird on stream tonight, you’ll know why—we might be in the middle of a full streaming PC migration.
Testing a DMCA-Free Music Solution
We’ve been searching for a good music solution for the stream. Tonight, we’re going to test a DMCA-free, Twitch- and YouTube-safe stream from Spotify. Let’s see how that goes.
Pup Updates and Vet Calls
The pups are doing great, but I still haven’t been able to contact the vet. Work was too busy today, and every time I tried to call, something interrupted me. Rusty is the only one still needing his meds, so I’ll make sure to get in touch with the vet soon.
Time to Get Set Up
Now it’s time to start getting things ready for the stream. Looking forward to testing the new music setup and possibly switching over to the new streaming PC. See you all soon!
